While most bags are mounted from a ceiling or a wall unit, there are some instances when this might not be best or even possible. That’s when you can choose to use a punching bag with a stand.

Most freestanding heavy bags are designed with a large base that can be filled with water or sand for stability. You can fill with sand or water for most of your freestanding bags. Water is more convenient in some instances because it is more readily available and easier to fill and drain. However, sand is heavier and is more likely to keep the base from wobbling or sliding on the floor surface.



You don’t have to mount these bags to a ceiling or wall and they are easily transportable. They provide a good option for your work out if you have limited space.



These are similar to a double end bag and work great if you don’t have the set up to hang a bag. The heavy spring provides a great bounce back so that you can work on lateral movement, head movement, and hand speed.
